The CareRing is dependent upon three technologies – GPS (Global Positioning System) and wireless communications or cell phone (GSM) and RF (VHF). Anywhere you can receive both a GPS signal and have cell phone reception, the product will work to provide you with a location on a map. However if there is an emergency and there is no cell or GPS coverage, the Police and Search and Rescue can follow the RF signal.
